Panerai Watch Reviews - The Luminor Marina
I've been a fan of Panerai watches for years. I like almost the entire collection from Panerai but there are those who, for me, is special - the Panerai Luminor Marina PAM00104.Panerai started making watches for the Italian Navy. The company is now based in Switzerland. The overall appearance and design of Panerai watches has not changed much from when they were manufactured. Some technical advances have been made to the price movements with the appearance of legs that can be easily removed to replace the belt - in the old days the leather straps are not really designed to be replaced.
And speaking of belts, like most diving watches, Panerai have rubber straps. Titanium casings are now available. But basically when you buy a Panerai watch you buy something that your grandparents wearing. However feel comfortable, I want to emphasize that not everyone will feel comfortable wearing a Panerai diving watch. The Luminor Marina is 44 mm in diameter and many might think that this watch is a bit 'too large for their wrist.
This is a model of 40 mm available for those who prefer slightly lower watch. The Panerai Luminor Marina is strong and feels as if it was solidly built. If you wear a watch big, strong and you feel strong enough to withstand anything thrown at it. For example, a big clock, the crown of the Luminor is thin but has a large crown guard with the Panerai patented open / close to keep water resistant. The slightly rounded sapphire crystal really full ears rounded and smooth curves of the case.
In fact, the case has some "soft look to it, which helps" resolve "the emergence of big box and remind you of work in making appropriate and comprehensive checklist. The dial of the Panerai Luminor Marina PAM00104 is black. The dial can also be white, but I love my watch faces to be black on sports watches. A small point: the dial is black, there is no reason or any other "effects".
It's something I appreciate very much for leave Panerai Luminor, the dial is just a euphemism that will stand the test of time. The minute hand and hour are simple, straight with triangular points, are bright, with a black outline. Another fine detail is the length of the minute hand, stops short of testing - I do not like arms that actually seem to touch or fall on the indices. Interestingly, the second hand - which is contained in a subsidiary dial - is a different shape is an ellipse with a ball-shaped small counterweight to the pinion others.
I can not decide if I like the shape of the second hand or prefer to combine the two others. Finally, the indexes are large Arabic numerals, numbers 3, 6, 9 and 12 is slightly larger. Overall, the dial Panerai Luminor Marina PAM00104 is clear, easy to read with a sub-l'eleganza Panerai Luminor has self-winding mechanical movement - the exclusive Panerai OP III caliber, which is 13 lines and comes with 21 rubies.
And 'CTE Genve decoration on the bridges. The movement comes with PANERAI personalized oscillating weight and balance with Glucydur 28,800 alternations / hour. The watch has an anti-shock Incabloc. The movement is rated COSC. The Luminor has a power reserve of 42 hours. The black leather straps of the Panerai Luminor good. You also get a rubber strap with this model. The buckle in brushed metal and comes with the Panerai logo.
Unlike most watches, the straps are decided case by screws rather than springbars - using the screwdriver supplied with the clock to remove the screws from the case and bracelet. I like this feature, you feel the straps are attached to the envelope. To be really safe, Panerai has put a small steel cylinder in the holes that you must remove the belt and place the gum in the holes originally strap.
